GreenToronto February 13th Eco-Makerspace Workshop
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, GreenToronto hosted another warm and inspiring community workshop centered on creativity, sustainability, and sharing kindness. The event encouraged children to express care and appreciation through art while learning the importance of environmental responsibility. The workshop space was filled with pink tones, heart-themed designs, and cheerful energy. Guided by youth volunteers, children used recycled paper rolls, colored paper, markers, and reusable materials to create Valentine’s-themed crafts. Through imagination and teamwork, simple materials were transformed into meaningful handmade artworks. A new highlight of this session was a structured instructional approach. Team Member Mia
prepared a step-by-step PowerPoint presentation (Steps 1–5) with visuals and
animations showing each stage of the craft-making process. This visual guidance helped younger participants follow along more easily, build
confidence, and complete their projects independently. The addition of structured visual
instructions made the workshop smoother, more engaging, and educationally impactful.
